Lukus Kai was Melinda's heart and soul. Still a very painful loss. Lukuss was a stray picked up by animal control and brought to the shelter where Melinda worked. He was never claimed so Melinda adopted him. Things went great at first but we began to quickly realize that Lukuss had severe dog aggression. He would attack anything that came near him, without warning. He did well with Melinda's other dogs, for a while. In the end, he turned on them as well. One morning, he went on an unexpected attacking frenzy of Melinda's dogs whom he had lived and played with for 5 years. He never recovered. He could not be trusted to be out with any of the dogs. His eyes turned to glass and he was non-responsive. The vets thought it to be "Rage Syndrome" and with no further response from Lukuss at all, he had to be laid to rest. He was 6 years old.
